Janapada Loka actively promotes folklore education through Janapada Mahavidyalaya, offering courses in folklore studies to preserve Karnataka’s rich traditions. The initiative includes interactive folk art demonstrations, where students engage with skilled artists to learn traditional crafts, music, and storytelling. Scholars and researchers find valuable opportunities to explore folk traditions, while children benefit from folklore awareness programs featuring storytelling and hands-on activities. These initiatives ensure that folk knowledge is passed down to future generations, fostering a deeper appreciation for Karnataka’s vibrant cultural heritage. Through these programs, Janapada Loka nurtures a new generation of folklore enthusiasts.
The Karnataka Janapada Parishath, under the able leadership of Shri H.L. Nagégowda, has made remarkable strides in the preservation and promotion of Karnataka’s folk culture. The institution has initiated numerous programs and initiatives to foster the growth and development of folk traditions, making significant contributions in both research and practical training. Three major ventures that reflect the Parishath’s dedication to folk culture are the Janapada Mahavidyalaya (Folk University), the HLN Research Centre, and the HLN Folk Art Training Center.
